Going to a counsellor can be scary because you may reveal your most vulnerable story to a stranger. Having more information about my professional background might help you to decide whether I am a good fit for you.

What is my professional background?

I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapist of Canada (ACCT) as well as the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA). I am trained in trauma-informed practice, sexual abuse counselling, loss and grief counselling, substance abuse counselling, substance abuse counselling, suicide prevention and mental health early intervention, introduction to psychopathology, listening, asserting, and resolving conflict, non-violent communication, family counselling, and relationship counselling.

Concerning counselling models, I am trained in Gestalt therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Counselling, Clinical Art Therapy, Existential counselling theory and person-centred theory. I am currently in training for EMDR and will finish it by September 2020.

My professional goal is to provide excellent counselling services and continuous growth is an important aspect of it. I feel honoured to have found excellent instructors who shared their profound wisdom and best-practices about developing our full potential as human beings.

Professional experience

I see clients in my private practice since 2011. In addition, I collaborated with various not-for-profit organizations: I am currently a facilitator for SMART Recovery Alberta. Furthermore, I volunteered at the crisis line in Calgary. I also facilitated workshops about Suicide Prevention for Skipping Stone and the Ally Toolkit Conference in Calgary. I provided workshop for YWCA Vancouver on Healthy Boundaries in Relationships. I conducted workshops for counsellors in India on how to use storytelling to heal trauma for Street Heroes Of India. Additionally, I facilitated the peer-support group “Between Femme” for female identified and non-binary individuals.

To be able to offer integrative services, I graduated from the Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy and worked in the Japan Shiatsu Clinic in Vancouver. Furthermore, I am a Reiki Master in Usui Ryoho Reiki and have completed training in spiritual healing at Espacio Síntesis in Spain.

Continuous Education for more than 10 years

I am a graduate of the Vancouver College of Counsellor Training. I also hold a diploma in Addiction studies with Indigenous focus from Bow Valley College. Additionally, I completed awareness integration training from Gestalt Counselling perspective in Vancouver, BC, and I finished a certificate in Organizational and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC) by CRR Global, the leading organization in providing training in relationship systems. Furthermore, I participated in a 3 years’ training program in systemic and family constellations at the InstitutGestalt and Beth-Constelaciones in Spain. Furthermore, I successfully completed a course for therapeutic storytelling at the InstitutGestalt in Spain as well as the certified Story-Coach Program by Story-Coach Inc., Israel. I also have a diploma in coaching from the Instituto Europeo de Coaching in Spain.

Before I became a counsellor, I worked as a product manager and I hold a Masters in Industrial Engineering.
