New heartfelt memoir reveals how it is possible to heal from abusive relationships and a painful past and live with passion, purpose and fulfillment.
‘A Brave True Story’, the heartfelt and inspiring memoir of Natalie Jovanic, provides an insightful exploration into the world of abusive relationships, emotions and recovering from dark experiences of the past.
Stories have the power to heal. Stories can support you when painful memories impinge on your daily life. But stories can also prevent you from living fully, especially when they are buried deep within your soul.
If you have experienced violence or struggled with unhealthy relationships, A Brave True Story can help you see that you are not alone and that you have many choices to transform your life. You can get rid of negative emotions like pain, shame, or guilt. You can increase your awareness about areas where you need to look more closely. And you can gently explore your untold stories and search for their beauty.
Natalie’s memoir shows that the power to heal resides within yourself. It helps you to find new ways to nurture and unfold your full potential.
A Brave True Story does not give you the one-and-only recipe, but a human experience with inspiration and thought-provoking impulses for your healing journey. This book encourages you to become whole, to say no to violence and unhealthy relationships, and to live life fully. It can also help you to restore hope and find meaning.
As the author notes, “I share my story not for me, but for you. A Brave True Story is my deeply personal account of a healing journey from violence and unhealthy relationships to a life lived with fulfillment, passion, and love.”
She continues, “As a young child, I was not supported or protected and, as a result, I grew into a woman who had abandoned herself. A trip to Thailand opened my eyes enough to start listening to my inner voice. I left behind loveless relationships and released painful emotions. And I finally recovered my deep love for myself. This is how I ultimately became whole again.”
A Brave True Story is a story about accepting, forgiving, and ultimately finding inner peace and joy.
A Brave True Story is available to buy from, Barnes & Noble, amazon.com and other online retailers.
Frequently Asked Questions
What were your motivations for writing the book?
I often share my personal story working with my clients and it gives them courage to move forward with their life. Yet I still see many people struggling with pain from past trauma or staying in unhealthy relationships because they don’t see any way out or know any other option. Then, there are still people who believe that abuse can never be healed.
I know that there is a way out and that there are many options. This motivated me to share my path of recovery in a way that showed exactly what I had experienced and how I’ve overcome the challenges to get to this happy stage in my life.
People always seemed to relate to my experiences and so I thought that creating my memoir would be the most authentic and honest way to help more people to reconnect with themselves.

What do you feel the message of your book is, and why is it different from other books on the market?
What do you feel the message of your book is and why is it different from other books on the market?
I feel that my deep transformation arising from my personal journey has given me the ability to have an unusual depth of compassion and insight in my coaching work. I hope that this comes across in my book so that people can instantly relate to the thoughts, feelings and emotions throughout the book. Everyone’s journey through life is unique, relevant and purposeful and because the book is based on my own journey, this in itself makes it different from any other book. No other book tells my story or shares my learnings and experiences!
What is the main goal of releasing this book? What would you hope to achieve?
My goal is to reach out to as many people as possible who are currently in a dark place in their lives, due to a painful or traumatic past.
I want to give people hope that no matter how broken and lost you feel, you can get back on track, recover from your past and leave that dark place behind for good. Emotional abuse or violence does not have to be a stigma or shadow that haunts you all your life. I want to encourage them to look at their past, at their shadow and heal it. You are actually the only person who can heal it. Nobody else can do this for you.
I want to inspire them to go this way or, at least, start to consider it as an option. There is a light-filled life full of joy and opportunity for anyone that is willing to go looking for it.
If I can help just one person to transform their life as a result of reading my book, then it will have done its job.
