Are you a survivor of childhood abuse?
Growing up with childhood abuse is a painful and difficult experience, whether it is physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse. The associated stigma may make it hard to talk about it.
When I first started my healing journey, I felt scared and I did not know to expect. However, breaking the silence and getting counselling helped me transform my pain in ways I had never imaged before.
Recovery is a choice, and a pathway to find joy. and fulfillment
While we weren’t responsible for what happened to us as children, we have the responsibility to heal it as adults. Although trauma has painful effects, there is also post-traumatic growth. Full recovery is possible, however it requires that we work towards integrating our trauma and pain, heal ourselves and become whole again. If you do not choose healing, nothing will ever change.
Find freedom from childhood abuse
Counselling provides you with a safe space and allows you to re-build a life you might have never imagined. Through counselling, you will recover from the effects of childhood abuse and to become whole.
While each person has their individual healing journey, the following areas are common themes in a counselling process:
- Connecting with your emotions in a mindful way
- Dealing with difficult emotions like shame, anger, guilt, or sadness
- Inner child work
- Working through trust issues
- Establishing a secure attachment style
- Finding self-esteem and self-empowerment
As a result, you will experience more joy and freedom in your life.
